Baby Bullet

Need a gift for Christmas ? … I think the baby bullet sits pretty well under the tree 😉
(Oh and I’m perfectly aware I still need to add ornaments… I can’t get into the attic alone!)https://www.babybullet.com/store/orderindex.html

The Baby Bullet comes with a ‘batch bowl’ and also a ‘short cup.’ Depending on the portion size of baby food you want to make, you can use either. The Baby Bullet also includes a milling blade. The milling blade feature can turn whole grains, rice and oats into fresh cereal. Lastly, the Baby Bullet comes with its own storage system. It includes 6 storage cups that have an exclusive date dial system, so when food prepping you can place them in the freezer and you know exactly when the food was made. I love this feature… I wish breast milk bottles had this 😉

My favorite recipe to make using the baby bullet? Pumpkin Applesauce Medley

Here’s how to do it:

Step 1: Buy a Pumpkin…Warning, this recipe makes some delicious baby food. Amateur mommies be advised….you may eat more of it than your toddler. Similar in flavor to a squash, pumpkin pairs nicely with less-sweet veggies such as zucchini and green beans, and also works well with fruits and meats. When looking for your pumpkin, look for an unblemished one, between 2-5 lbs. If purchasing a package of already peeled pumpkin, be sure the pumpkin is deep orange in color. For measuring sake, remember, a two-pound pumpkin yields about 28 ounces of puree.

Step 2:Place that pumpkin of yours in the sink and rinse with cold water. Scrub the pumpkin with a brush to get the grime and dirt off. If you purchased the already peeled pumpkin, rinse in cold water in a colander.

Step 3:Cut the pumpkin into small cubes (this takes … a long time and is rather tedious but so worth it). Add pumpkin squares to baking dish, add a half inch of water before backing to keep the pumpkin moist.. Bake at 450F for about 45 minutes. The pumpkin should be tender. Remove from oven. If you went the easy way out… (you are smart!) Take the peeled and cut pumpkin, bring water to a boil in a medium saucepan. Cook diced pumpkin until tender, about 15 minutes. Drain and rinse under cool water for about three minutes to stop the cooking process.

Step 4:Puree cooked pumpkin in your Baby Bullet until smooth.

Step 5: Mix together in the Baby Bullet:

1/2 cup applesauce.

1/2 cup pumpkin puree.

1/2 cup (cooked) oatmeal.

Dash of cinnamon and nutmeg

Step 6:Feed to baby. Feed to mommy. Feed to everyone.
